Curly Girl is a mixed media animation visualiser I created for artist CallMeD’s track of the same name. The song tells the story of a past relationship, where an ex-partner—unable to move on—sought out girls with curly hair in a misguided attempt to replace her.
I had full creative control over the visual concept, directing and shooting the footage before printing each frame by hand and individually animating them to craft a textured, emotionally resonant visual experience. The final piece blends lo-fi charm with raw vulnerability, echoing the personal narrative at the heart of the track.
